Why I do what I do…
Photography is a funny business. And photographers are a funny breed. We all strive for excellence and originality in a universe where hundreds of millions of photos are taken every year. How do you set yourself apart? Just how many ways are there to photograph beef-stew or a hiking-boot? A sane person would probably give up before beginning. The fact that we persist against such odds may merit your admiration, for stubbornness if nothing else, or perhaps sympathy for the seeming futility of it all.

But there are reasons why we do persist. Not the least of which is that it’s fun. Yes, that’s one of photography’s little known secrets. Done with care and forethought, taking pictures is full of small triumphs and joyful, even sublime moments. At the conclusion of a shoot, you and your photographer have actually accomplished something useful, and with a good eye, aesthetically pleasing.

If you like what you see, I welcome a chance to discuss your particular project...
